Welcome to the website of the Senior Citizens' Council of the City of Aachen. With these pages, we want to supplement the city's pages on ageing from the perspective of fellow citizens who are already older. Ideally, these pages should not be a portal for the 60-plus generation, but should also address cross-generational commonalities. Here you will find information and suggestions and learn more about our work as a seniors' council. And if you are still missing something, please send us an e-mail toredaktion@seniorenrat-aachen.org.

Introducing the Senior Citizens' Council
Every five years, all citizens of the city of Aachen aged 60 and over have the opportunity to elect new honorary representatives to the Senior Citizens' Council. But who is the Senior Citizens' Council, what does it do and why should you vote in 2027?

Tasks
As a voluntary body, the Senior Citizens' Council represents the interests of older citizens vis-à-vis politicians, administration and the public.

About us
The Seniors' Council represents the 60+ generation, but we also think beyond that.

Management Board
Our goal is an Aachen for all generations. We are committed to ensuring that the older generation is not forgotten in the necessary changes in the country and in the city.
The Senior Citizens' Council in the districts

Senior citizens' council in politics
Decisions are made in the political committees. However, senior citizens are quickly forgotten. That is why representatives of the Senior Citizens' Council are represented in many important committees to contribute their views - even if we do not have the right to vote. All public information can be found in the City of Aachen's council information system.
