Working group separation-divorce

Representatives of advice centers, youth welfare offices, family court judges, lawyers working primarily in family law, psychological experts and legal advisors are involved in the Aachen Separation-Divorce Working Group. Regular meetings of the working group serve to promote cooperation and the exchange of experience between the various professional groups. We offer information and events for people who find themselves in a separation or divorce situation. The free information evenings for those affected take place every month on the 1st Tuesday, with the exception of vacation periods.

  • Children at a glance (KIB), parenting courses

The parent training program "Kinder im Blick" helps parents in separation to better cope with the challenges of the separation crisis and the time afterwards.

This parent training course teaches participants skills that they can use to resolve their difficulties with their former partner and child/children themselves. The aim is to learn general strategies that make it easier to deal with critical situations. As a parent, the aim is to find out how my child experiences the separation situation, what is particularly important now and what they need from me.

Parents have the opportunity to learn other ways of acting that show how I can take good care of myself in this difficult situation (self-care), and how I can deal with my former partner differently in order to defuse conflicts and relax our dealings with each other.

The course comprises 7 meetings of 3 hours each.

The concept is for parents to attend the KiB training in parallel courses.
