Cooperative city
What is meant by "cooperative city"?
The city of Aachen has set out to shape the future of our city together with a large number of stakeholders. On May 4, 2021, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community awarded it the "Cooperative City" federal prize for exemplary and creative cooperation ideas. Further information on the federal award at: Koop.city (koop.stadt.de)
In addition to the Stadtmacher*innen process around the Büchel, the award jury was impressed by the many other cooperative approaches in Aachen at the time: from the diverse activities of the city management, the participatory neighborhood development projects such as in Preuswald or at Branderhof, the diverse commitment of the district conferences and citizen-oriented planning and development of large urban redevelopment measures such as in the context of the Theaterplatz real-world laboratory.
In order to further develop the networking and visualization of the enormous commitment in Aachen as well as for the exchange among each other, but also to offer all young Aacheners in particular the opportunity to participate in this first kick-off, all committed people and actors of the cooperative city were cordially invited to a barcamp. The aim was to get to know each other and exchange ideas. Everyone benefited from each other's contributions.
