Reassuring for the compatibility of family and career: all municipal elementary school have open all-day care (OGS), where children are looked after sensibly into the afternoon. School psychological service

Help in crisis situations: The School Psychology Service of the City of Aachen offers teachers, pupils and parents professional support on all aspects of school, learning and mental health. The aim is to develop individual solutions together with all those affected.

Youth vocational assistance
The transition from school to work is a difficult step for many young people. The Youth Vocational Assistance Department of the Youth and Schools Division offers them socio-educational support during this transition process in order to promote school and vocational training, integration into the world of work and social integration.

Inclusion and support
The aim is to provide people with and without disabilities or limitations with the same educational opportunities and to create barrier-free coexistence. The wide range of special schools for all special needs also helps children and young people with disabilities in their school careers.

Music school
The Aachen Music School is an educational institution of the City of Aachen for children, young people and adults. Its mission is to awaken an interest in music, to develop musical skills and abilities and to promote musical creativity.
City library
Over 460,000 books, CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, games, sheet music, magazines, audio books and e-media are part of the Aachen City Library's media collection and are available to users in the central library, the two district libraries, the five branch libraries and the book bus. Aachen City Library promotes information, reading and media literacy. As a politically and ideologically neutral venue for events, learning and recreation, it cooperates with a wide range of educational, cultural, social and leisure facilities.
Adult Education Center Aachen
The adult education center offers individual learning within the framework of an extensive range of courses on all days of the week and a wide range of educational advice. It responds flexibly, differentiated and promptly to the current educational needs and interests of citizens. As a "third place", it aims to be a non-commercial, non-hierarchical and diverse space for discourse and encounters for Aachen.
Aachen Theater School
The Theaterschule Aachen für Schauspiel und Regie is a recognized vocational school (BAföG eligible) that offers three years of full-time training to become an actor.
Digital education

The Euregional Center for Digital Education
We, the media experts, are the point of contact for all educational teachers and specialists from 750 educational institutions in the region. In the school environment, we work hand in hand with the state's media consultants.
At the interface between media education and media equipment, we promote and demand media literacy in school and extracurricular educational institutions, starting as early as daycare. As a joint institution of the City of Aachen and the StädteRegion Aachen with the participation of the German-speaking Community of Belgium, we are active on an inter-municipal and cross-border basis.
Our central tasks include providing media advice to educational institutions and providers, pedagogical and technical training, the provision of digital educational media and equipment as well as public relations work. We contribute our specialist expertise as an active part of the education network and work together with regional and national media education stakeholders.
