At the Citizens' Assembly conference on December 12, 2023, the members of the Citizens' Assembly presented the citizens' report from the previous Citizens' Assembly to an interested audience.
During a moderated event, the audience was briefly updated on the Citizens’ Assembly’s past proceedings before Mayor Keupen welcomed the audience—and, of course, especially the members of the Citizens’ Assembly in attendance—and once again expressed her gratitude for the members’ dedication. This was followed by a presentation of the report in its entirety by various speakers from among the members of the Citizens’ Assembly, to much applause. Finally, there was an opportunity to ask many interested and curious questions, after which the chair of the Citizens’ Forum closed the session.
The audience could hardly have been more diverse: politicians, government officials from various municipalities, citizens’ groups, associations, representatives from Heerlen, and, of course, many interested Aachen residents listened intently and contributed by asking a wide variety of questions from different perspectives.
