Citizens' Assembly 2024
In the fall of 2024, the second Aachen Citizens’ Council convened to address the central question: “How can Aachen become more attractive to families with children?” Following an inspiring kickoff event on September 7, 2024, the members of the council worked through three intensive days—on September 14, September 21, and September 28—under the expert facilitation of IKU_DIE DIALOGGESTALTER and with valuable input from experts. The goal was to develop ten concrete and actionable recommendations based on the broad topic of family-friendliness in Aachen.
The result of this dedicated collaboration is a report that not only includes recommendations but also presents numerous innovative ideas and cross-cutting issues. These are intended to help bring the participants’ vision to life in various areas and make Aachen a sustainable place for families with children.
Below, we present the progress made on the ten recommendations, as well as some highlights from the Citizens’ Assembly’s working sessions.
