The Bürger*innentreff in the OecherLab (Kapuzinergraben 19), as a central contact point in the city center, invites all citizens to an open dialogue with the city administration.

The Lord Mayor regularly invites people to an open dialog on various topics at different locations in order to get into conversation with the people of Aachen and shape the future of our city together.
The night mayor
The Night Mayor acts as a guide for event organizers, as an interpreter between the independent scene and the administration and as a lobbyist for nightlife in the administration. He also aims to establish a sustainable network of the various players in Aachen's nightlife scene.

The City of Aachen creates a coordination office for municipal development policy Karolina Kohl has been in office as Coordinator for Municipal Development Policy (KEpol) for the City of Aachen since October 2024. The KEpol position runs until 2026 and is funded by "Engagement Global" with its service center "Communities in One World" (SKEW).
Coordination of Euregional and International Relations
Aachen has a special location due to its direct proximity to Belgium and the Netherlands. The city of Aachen is very keen to promote direct municipal exchange and work closely with the municipalities on the border on various topics.
