Bleiberger factory

Description

For almost 40 years, the Bleiberger Fabrik in the west of Aachen has been a lively cultural and event space. The former factory building was purchased and renovated by the Youth Organization for International Cooperation with the support of many friends and sponsors in 1980. Jesuit priest Erich Lennartz created the basis for the artistic and creative educational work with children, young people and adults, which is now supported and carried out by the youth art school, the cultural workshop and the work weeks.

The work weeks in the Bleiberger Fabrik have a long history. This vacation program for children and young people has existed since 1965 and found a home in the old factory on Bleiberger Straße in 1980 after many years in various Aachen schools and institutions. The Kulturwerkstatt offers a range of courses for adults outside of the vacations. The youth art school is aimed at children and young people. It runs its own program as well as projects and collaborations with schools.

The Bleiberger Fabrik work and education center has a children's and adult studio. There are also rooms for exercise classes, seminars and conferences. It sees itself as a lively place of learning, expression and personal development and understands people as holistic beings whose different needs for self-development it aims to meet with its educational programs.
