Road traffic count 2025: City is looking for traffic counters

The city is looking for many reliable and flexible counters for the federal government's 2025 road traffic count for the period from April to October 2025. Counting will take place at 28 measuring points in the city area on Tuesdays to Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Fridays and during vacations from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sundays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The counters have the following tasks. They take over the manual counting of vehicles on various roads in the Aachen city area and are responsible for the correct identification of vehicle categories. Those who count document their findings on the forms provided for this purpose.

People who are looking for temporary work or a mini-job can apply. They can choose their working days in consultation with the city. A particularly reliable and careful way of working is required. If you would like to take part, you should be mobile and be able to reach the counting locations independently by car, bicycle or bus. The minimum age is 18 years. The hourly wage is 13 euros.

Interested parties should contact Gabriela Schmidt as soon as possible at the following e-mail address: gabriela.schmidt@mail.aachen.de

The census is organized every five years by the federal government to systematically describe and evaluate the overall road traffic situation throughout Germany. The city of Aachen supplements this at selected counting points.
