"We are overwhelmed," says Operations Manager Indra Balsam. Thousands of visitors attended the open day on Sunday to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Aachen municipal utility. Driving a refuse truck and sweeper, getting a digger driver's license, potting plants, building key rings, laying paving stones, driving a pallet truck - there were activities to take part in, try out and marvel at from each of the many areas of activity at the municipal utility.

Almost 250 employees attended the birthday party at the company premises on Madrider Ring and Freunder Weg at the weekend to make the celebration an outstanding experience, true to the motto: "For us. For you. For Aachen." Indra Balsam: "The enthusiasm for their daily work was visibly transmitted to the visitors, which in turn made the employees' faces light up."

Among the numerous visitors, Lord Mayor Sibylle Keupen, Heiko Thomas, Councillor for Climate and Environment, Municipal Operations and Buildings of the City of Aachen, Dr. Markus Kremer, Councillor for Human Resources, Fire Service and Sport, as well as representatives from the political committees took the opportunity to talk to the employees.
