Department 23 assumes the ownership function for the municipal properties. It leases and maintains the properties, buys and sells or grants leaseholds. In particular, we develop concepts for municipal properties before they are allocated to potential developers. The municipal apartments are also managed by the department.

The City of Aachen is awarding six plots in Aachen-Lichtenbusch in the Schlehenweg/ Holunderweg development area to a commercial developer. The public transport connections are within walking distance.
