"Wishes become reality" - Deutsche Bank at Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz
In 1968, Deutsche Bank realized a striking new building in the heart of the city with its branch on Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz.
The design of the new building by the architect duo Heinrich Rosskotten and Edgar Tritthart was characterized by a framing architectural repertoire conceived for customer proximity and transparency and enhanced the building with artistic elements such as the glass façade on the ground floor and the ribbed aluminium panels on the individual floors. By demolishing the historicist predecessor building on the site, the bank deliberately emphasized the idea of a radical new beginning in the post-war period.
The building is not a registered monument.
