Holy Cross rectory - monastery and baroque gem
The impressive front façade of the baroque-style Heilig Kreuz rectory was designed by master builders Laurenz Mefferdatis and Johann Joseph Couven. The house dates back to the construction of the monastery of the Holy Cross in the 14th century.
Inside, carved Baroque wooden fireplaces with pleasing frames and late Baroque doors are reminiscent of the original building. In the former cloister of the west wing of the monastery, now the Chapel of the Cross, there are many carvings from the art workshops of the canons of the Cross.
