Living Rooms: Kornelimünster Imperial Abbey

Living Rooms: Kornelimünster Imperial Abbey
Kunsthaus NRW invites you to a special program around the project "Living Rooms - Lebende Räume" by artist Stefanie Klingemann. The "living" sculpture in the garden opens up as a space for experience and possibility.
11-17 h VESPERby Judith Anna Schmidt
The artist Judith Anna Schmidt takes care of the physical well-being with an artistic catering: under the title "Vesper", food becomes an artistic gesture - an invitation to take a break together, to talk and to experience the senses.
12-15 Stefanie Klingemann's open workshop: plant printing for all ages
An open studio is created in the open air using paint, paper and freshly collected plants from the garden. All visitors are invited to create their own small works of art - poetic imprints of living nature.
2 p.m. Architectural history tour with Julia-Anna Preisler
The year 1721 is the first date given for the magnificent new baroque building of Kornelimünster Abbey. But what is the background, why did the abbot stage himself as the guardian of Charlemagne's treasure? Architect Julia-Anna Preisler will answer these and many other questions about the listed building and its "valuable" furnishings.
3 pm Walk & Talk
Stefanie Klingemann will guide visitors through her work on site - in a personal, associative and unconventional way that invites them to develop their own perspectives on space, nature and art. Questions can be asked and thoughts shared in dialog with the artist - directly within the installation.
4 pm Performance
An experimental music performance by artist Bidisha Das that explores the space between sound, nature and installation.
