Once a monument - always a monument? The future of remembrance at the long night of short films
A monument as an actual memorial to an event or happening, for example, raises questions: Who determines what a monument is? Who contributes to it, who determines its appearance, the material it is made of and, for example, its location or value? When the meaning of a monument or its understanding changes, what happens to it?
In the Long Night of Short Films 2025, the program explores these questions through international contributions that reflect different meanings and perceptions of monuments and at the same time show what form they can take, what places they can occupy and what it is about local monuments. Films that will be shown in the programs (not program sequence)
