Drei-T on Monheimsallee - The new office of the BDA Aachen

Drei-T on Monheimsallee - The new office of the BDA Aachen
With its careful design, which repeatedly varies the triangular motif in its ground plan, façade and roof, the small red pavilion by city architect Philipp Kerz in the middle of the Bastei intersection is one of the few expressionist buildings in the city of Aachen. A gem despite its profane former use as a drinking hall, transformer station and toilet. It is reminiscent of the days of the spa and leisurely strolls along Monheimsallee.
Next year, the pavilion celebrates its 100th birthday. A fitting occasion to revive it after decades of vacancy!
After decades of vacancy, the BDA (Association of German Architects) is currently working on its restoration and revitalization in cooperation with the city and monument preservation authorities.
