The Salvatorberg - the "little brother" of the Lousberg
A church was built on the Salvatorberg as early as the Carolingian period on the initiative of Louis the Pious. Renovated several times, the Salvatorkirche still stands there today, at the end of a crossroads and in connection with a former monastery.
At the end of the 19th century, the trees on the Salvatorberg were integrated into the Lousberg park, thus creating a spatial link to the city fortifications, which were planned as a garden, and the city garden designed by Peter Joseph Lenné.
We will climb the hill from the Kupferstraße parking lot and talk about the buildings and their historical significance.
