50 years of a valuable future - The University Hospital of RWTH Aachen: A futuristic monument
The Aachen University Hospital building, constructed between 1970 and 1984, was the source of fierce debate from the outset. Designed by the architectural firm Weber, Brandt & Partner at a time of unbroken faith in the future, it still looks like a homage to a technical world of unlimited possibilities.
The architecture, which was groundbreaking at the time and is still groundbreaking today, is intimidating and difficult to understand for many people - simply because of its size.
As part of the guided tour, we will take a closer look at the building's architectural concept and learn about its special construction and design features.
Guided tours: 11.00, 13.00 and 15.00
