Opening of the exhibition "Sun, moon and many stars - 90 years of Aachen Observatory"
Ninety years ago, in July 1935, the Aachen Observatory was opened. It has been part of the Aachen Adult Education Center since 1946 and more than fulfils its role as a "public observatory": around 4,000 people take the opportunity to observe the starry sky over Aachen every year. The guided tours at the observatory are run by the Astronomy Working Group, a group of dedicated amateur astronomers.
The exhibition shows photos of the sun, moon and planets as well as images of the starry sky taken by members of the Astronomy Working Group at the observatory and around Aachen.
