Combination course on the basics of mowing with and deneshing the hand scythe
Would you like to mow your meadow or lawn almost silently and effortlessly? Without gasoline, without electricity consumption, without noise and exhaust fumes and totally relaxed ... with what? With the scythe, the oldest and most efficient mowing tool for your lawn!!! In the 4 ½ - hour course you will learn how to mow with the scythe in a way that is easy on the body and fatigue-free and you will be surprised how easy it is! You should not be surprised that your meadow will be colorful, that butterflies, many insects and birds will feel comfortable with you again. All materials (scythe blade, scythe tree, sharpening stone and container) are provided by the scythe instructor. Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and non-slip shoes during the course.
Scythe-denging:
If you want to maintain your meadows with a scythe, you need to keep your scythe sharp and ready for use. Work is only easy with a well-honed scythe, which is why this course teaches you how to properly hone your scythe. It's not for nothing that they say: If you sleep when you're dening, you'll wake up when you're mowing!!! Dengeling is a form of cold forging. The inner edge of the scythe blade (the dengel) is hammered very thin. The dengel is then sharpened with a whetstone to produce a very sharp edge. With a traditional dengel stick, three different dengel tools and a dengel hammer, you will learn how to dengel your scythe. The scythe instructor will provide all the necessary equipment and tools as well as scythe blades. You are welcome to bring your own scythe.
