University in the town hall: "Yesterday's school? We're talking about tomorrow"
At Uni im Rathaus on October 28 under the title "Zukunft Bildung: How does it work?" will focus on the challenges and potential of our schools.
What will our schools of tomorrow and beyond look like? And what about the education of the future? How can we make schools more modern and open? Can frontal teaching be broken up in a sustainable way? Do classrooms need to be designed to be more open? And what role do teachers play in this? Our education system is facing many challenges, ranging from inclusion and educational equity to the potential of digitalization. And the time to put all these questions on the agenda in Aachen is better than ever: the new primary school teaching degree course starts at RWTH in the winter semester. The necessary space to discuss "Future education: How does it work?" openly, constructively and critically in the new edition of "Uni im Rathaus" on Tuesday, October 28, at 7 p.m. in the Coronation Hall of Aachen Town Hall.
Professor Christian Timo Zenke, Department of Innovation and Transfer in Educational Systems at RWTH Aachen University, Professor Sven Kommer, Department of Didactics and Digital Education at RWTH Aachen University, Professor Dominik Farrenberg, Vice Dean of Social Pedagogy and Childhood Research at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences NRW and Ilona Orlikowski, Head of Schule am Fischmarkt, will be taking part in the panel discussion. They will bring different facets to the discussion, in which the audience will of course also be involved. "Uni im Rathaus" will be moderated by Marie Ludwig, editor at funk and WDR.
The "Uni im Rathaus" series of events organized by the city and university welcomes interested members of the public twice a year: In this format, current, socially relevant topics are addressed with renowned experts from science and society in the form of a dynamic panel discussion.
