Europe for dinner - Young debate over finger food
Dialogue event: Europe for dinner - a food and talk with Members of the European Parliament and a representative of the Young European Federalists
+++ Update: Daniel Freund (MEP, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) unfortunately had to cancel due to scheduling reasons. Malte Stratenwerth, Chairman of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen Städteregion Aachen and assistant to Daniel Freund, will represent him. +++
Politics at the dinner table - sometimes quite exhausting, but often also important and informative. That's how it should be at this event. Because here you can have your say and help shape things - in a relaxed atmosphere and with delicious finger food.
Daniel Freund (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) and Sabine Verheyen (CDU) are Members of the European Parliament and represent the interests of people from the StädteRegion Aachen at European level in Brussels. Carolin Mues is a member of the Speakers Pool Team EUROPE DIRECT of the European Commission and state chairwoman of the Young European Federalists NRW. She is a non-partisan advocate for a united Europe. All three will meet with you in the European classroom to discuss EU policy issues together.
You can ask your own questions, discuss current EU policy issues with them and talk about what moves you politically and what you would like to see from EU policy in the future.
What exactly you can expect:
- Delicious finger food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere in the historic Grashaus
- Three moderated themed tables with exciting key questions, accompanied by experts from politics and youth associations
- Exchange at eye level: Your opinion counts! What do you need from the EU? What should change?
- Change of perspective: How do other generations experience Europe - and how can we learn from each other?
- After about 20 minutes, you change tables and can talk to new people about new topics
- No long lectures - the focus is on open dialog and joint reflection on the future of Europe
The free event is open to all young people who are interested in sharing, discussing and having dinner. No previous knowledge is necessary - curiosity is enough!
