There are a large number of playgrounds in the Aachen-Haaren district. The leisure facilities are complemented by two skate parks and two barbecue areas.

A skating facility was built in the immediate vicinity of the barbecue area in 2000. The facility was built thanks to a generous donation from an entrepreneur in the immediate vicinity. - Großheidstraße

Leisure facilities
Barbecue area in the green area at the old cemetery
The barbecue hut on the green area in the center of Haaren is a popular meeting place for festive or family activities. The barbecue area can be reached via Laachgasse or Benno-Ivy-Weg. Since 1997, the Haaren fire department has taken over the operation of the facility.

The barbecue area in Verlautenheide has the most beautiful view over Aachen. It can be reached via Heider-Hof-Weg and is located at the end of the road. The barbecue area is allocated by the Association for the Promotion of the Fire Service in Aachen-Verlautenheide e.V.

Shelter for approx. 50 people, 200 m² forecourt with seating, electricity, toilet, large canopy grill - swing grill. Further information and booking options can also be found on the Verlautenheide barbecue site website.
