There are a number of initiatives and networks in the Aachen district of Haaren that are committed to life in Haaren and would be delighted to hear from you and provide further support.
Haaren/Verlautenheide district conference
The STK was founded in 2010; there was previously a social area conference in the district. The aim is to network stakeholders from the children and youth sector, clubs, associations, institutions, facilities for children, young people, senior citizens, migrants and civic engagement.
Community events are held at a local level. No political topics are discussed; quarterly meetings are held at different locations.

Interest group Haarener Vereine 1973 e.V.
The IG Haarener Vereine bundles and coordinates the interests of its members in Haaren/Verlautenheide and represents them in dealings with the town and politicians, particularly in the Haaren district, and maintains contacts with other authorities and institutions. The IG acts in an advisory capacity to the affiliated associations and is the point of contact for community events at a local level. The IG Haarener Vereine also manages the Haarbachtalhalle. Currently (as of 2020), 20 clubs are members of the IG.

The VdK social association - accessible everywhere: With 250,000 members are organized in 49 district associations with 1,100 local associations in North Rhine-Westphalia and 1.6 million members nationwide. The local association in Haaren has 360 members. And the trend is rising.
Members meet every 3rd Thursday of the month from 18.00 - 19.30 in the restaurant "Feuerwache" Alt Haarener Str. 165. Non-members are also welcome.
