  • Haaren-Verlautenheide Local History Association 1984 e.V.

Have you only lived in Haaren or Verlautenheide for a short time or would you like to move here and get to know your new home a little better? Or were you born here, perhaps like your parents, and would you like to talk to other people about how things used to be?

If you are interested in the history of today's Haaren district, you should get in touch with the Haaren-Verlautenheide local history association. Founded in 1984, the Haaren-Verlautenheide Local History Association brings together local people from Haaren and Verlautenheide - both long-established and new residents - to find out more about their home town.

The meeting point is the Heimatforum in the Welsche Mühle, Mühlenstr. 19 or in Verlautenheide; partly for chatting about topics they have chosen themselves, including dialectal ones, or for events with speakers. The activities also include excursions with a historical background to the surrounding area. A fixed point in the annual program is the "Pre-Christmas Matinee", which brings the year to a close with music, singing and presentations.

Some members are actively involved in various topics relating to the history of Haaren and Verlautenheide. The results are published once a year in the publications of the local history association.

    Bröselspetze e.V. Verlautenheide

The primary aim of the Bröselspetze Verlautenheide carnival society is to promote the popular customs of carnival. To this end, various carnival events are organized during the session. In addition to the uniformed members in musketeers and red skirts, there is also a top-class dancing couple. The proclamation of a princely totality also has a long tradition. The youth matry, children's dance group, youth dance group and children's musketeers are of particular importance to the association. From time to time, a children's prince leads the regiment. But the Bröselspetze are also active during the "Dance into May" and have been organizing an event in the parish hall for years.
