Vonachten Foundation

The primary purpose of the foundation is to grant pensions for one financial year at a time to descendants related to the founder up to the 12th degree at most of his sister Josefine Ww. Jos. Brehm and his half-sisters Bernhardine, Gertrud and Maria Vonachten. The amount of the pension is € 200 per financial year, unless otherwise stipulated in § 2 (3) and (4) (in the event of an excess number of applicants) or § 2 (6) of the foundation constitution (in the event of a shortage of applicants).

Background

On November 15, 1872, Mr. C.L. Vonachten made a will in which he appointed the City of Aachen as the universal heir to his entire estate and ordered the awarding of scholarships. The City of Aachen is the sponsor of the foundation and manages the foundation's assets as special assets in trust in accordance with the applicable provisions of municipal law.
