Broudlet-Startz Foundation
The purpose of the foundation is to promote the education and training, primarily of needy descendants of maternal and paternal relatives by granting scholarships.
Background
Maria Anna Startz, widow of Peter Broudlet, who died in 1850, made the poor administration of the city of Aachen the universal heir to her entire estate in her will dated July 15, 1849. The proceeds of the estate are to be used for the "education and training of poor children".
The City of Aachen is the sponsor of the foundation and manages the foundation's assets as special assets in a fiduciary capacity in compliance with the applicable legal provisions.
