Bischoff Foundation

The purpose of the foundation is to promote the education of the offspring of the founder's five sons of Christian denomination by granting educational scholarships.


Background

The Aachen cloth manufacturer and president of the commercial court Johann Arnold Bischoff, who died in 1871, bequeathed and donated the "Driescher Hof" to the poor administration of the city of Aachen for the purpose of a foundation in his will dated April 11, 1858.

The City of Aachen is the sponsor of the foundation and manages the foundation's assets as special assets in trust in accordance with the founder, the foundation law and these foundation statutes.


Scholarship award

The Bischoff Foundation awards educational scholarships exclusively to descendants of the founder Johann Arnold Bischoff.

Applications can now be submitted for any scholarships that may become available for the next award deadline of 31.10.2024 in accordance with §§ 6-11 of the foundation statutes.

This announcement is made in accordance with § 12 para. 2 of the statutes. Applications must be submitted to the City of Aachen, Department 20/301, Foundation Administration, 52058 Aachen, by 31.10.2024. Applications received after this date can no longer be considered.
