Curriculum vitae
Heiko Thomas was born in Wuppertal in 1969. After completing his training as a gas and water fitter, he studied political science, economics and social work in Duisburg.
In 1997, he moved to Berlin to work in the Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen parliamentary group on the federal executive and in other functions. Six years later, Heiko Thomas moved to the Federal Ministry of Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture before becoming Managing Director of the Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives in 2006, where he was also a member from 2011 to 2016.
Before he was assigned the office of Alderman for Climate and Environment, City Operations and Buildings at the City of Aachen on November 1, 2021, he worked in various functions at the State Ministry of the Environment for around five years from 2016.
In his private life, Heiko Thomas enjoys family time with his wife and foster children.
