The geodata portal of the City of Aachen provides you with numerous maps and information from various subject areas. These include, for example, a complete overview of existing planning and environmental protection legislation, aerial photographs, cadastral maps, a city map and much more.

Important note: All plans published here are for your information only. The plans may differ from the original plan in terms of representation, content and scale and are not binding. No legal claims can be derived from the representation. Planning law advice from the City of Aachen's Building Service is therefore essential for specific questions.

Building land register

The building land register provides an overview of the building land potential in the city of Aachen. It serves the purpose of land-saving and sustainable settlement development.

The legal basis for the building land register is Section 200 (3) of the German Building Code (BauGB).

The building land register shows areas suitable for residential use that can be built on immediately or in the foreseeable future. Commercial areas were not recorded in the building land register.

The building land register contains information on the location, size and, if applicable, land-use planning and availability of potential building sites. In addition, the locations of daycare centers, elementary school and public transport stops in the immediate vicinity can also be displayed.

The City of Aachen makes no claim to the completeness of the data and accepts no liability for its accuracy. Use of the data for commercial purposes is not permitted. No liability is assumed for damages resulting from the use of the information provided.

The building land register shows areas on which development is conceivable in principle. The contents of the building land register are of an informal nature only. There is no legal entitlement to build on the recorded areas. Further information on the buildability of potential building sites can be obtained from the Building Service of the City of Aachen.

The building land register does not contain any owner data on potential building sites. The City of Aachen has no information on the willingness of private landowners to sell.

    By entering an address in the search field at the top left, you can search for specific areas in the city of Aachen. By clicking on the area marked in red on the map, information on the object is displayed and additional thematic maps (e.g. development plans) can be added by selecting the corresponding topic in the left-hand column.

  • Right of objection

    If you as the landowner do not agree with the publication of your potential building plot, you can object to this at any time. In the event of an objection, the land in question will be removed from the building land register.
