District perspective on the future of Forst

Forst is confronted with changing social, ecological and economic conditions. In order to create an orientation framework for the spatial and structural development of the district, the plan-lokal office from Dortmund was commissioned by the city of Aachen to develop a district perspective for Forst. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the current situation, the perspective defines objectives, fields of action and measures for future development in Forst. An important focus is on strengthening social cohesion in the area under review. The district perspective was developed with the close involvement of local residents, stakeholders and institutions as well as in cooperation with all municipal institutions, specialist planning bodies and politicians. Following an extensive series of consultations in the relevant political bodies, the main committee adopted the district perspective on 6 November 2024 as the basis for the future development of the Forst district.
