Hearing: The public hearing for citizens (opportunity to comment and discuss) took place on March 11, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Rhine-Westphalia, Aachen Department, Robert-Schuman-Str. 25, 52066 Aachen.

Planning

A competition was held for the planning. The main objective was to plan a new fire and rescue station. Subsequently, an artificial turf sports field with changing rooms and a freely accessible sports area (football pitch or at least 2000 m² multifunctional sports area) were to be designed. Overall, both the new and the existing different uses had to be harmonized and the public circulation of the site had to be strengthened.
The development plan is intended to enable orderly urban development and create the legal planning requirements for the construction of the fire and rescue station as well as the outdoor sports facility and the path connection.
In the AACHEN*2030 land use plan, the area is currently designated as a green space with the purpose of a "sports field". In order to realize the planned use for the fire department, it is necessary to change this designation.
