Explanations on planning

The plan area is located in the area of development plan no. 791 - Krefelder Straße / Grüner Weg commercial area - which aims to control retail trade and secure the commercial location. As development plan no. 791 no longer complies with current legislation, a new development plan no. 931 - Grüner Weg/Krefelder Straße - is to be drawn up that implements the objectives of the City of Aachen's retail and local supply concept and secures the commercial location under planning law. The intention is to create planning rights between Krefelder Strasse and Gut-Dämme-Strasse for the establishment of retail businesses with non-center-relevant and non-local supply-relevant product ranges in accordance with the product range list adopted by Aachen City Council. Between Gut-Dämme-Straße and Grüner Weg, planning law is to be created for commercial development and protection. Retail use is to be generally excluded in order to protect the commercial location. By way of exception, sales to final consumers should be permitted if the product ranges on offer are related to the company's own production.
