Explanation

In 2005, a framework concept for an orderly and urbanistically desirable residential development in Aachen's southern district formulated fundamental urban and natural criteria for the preservation and partial densification of individual settlement areas.

The southern district was also examined to determine how urgently the use of planning law instruments is required in the individual settlement areas. On the basis of this investigation, the decision was made to draw up a plan for the Eupener Straße / I. Rote-Haag-Weg area.

The following urban development goals are to be achieved:

  • Safeguarding the orderly urban structure and the existing character
  • Securing the villa-like development on spacious plots of land
  • Safeguarding the existing characteristic greenery
  • Moderate control of further structural development
