Riding

There are numerous bridleways in the Aachen Forest, which are marked with a large bridleway sign. Riders receive an informative riding trail map with the riding sign. The municipal forestry office asks that you only ride with clearly visible riding signs and on the marked bridleways and that you follow the usual safety advice (helmet, insurance cover, obstacle courses at your own risk).
There are two bridleway signs in the Aachen Forest that occur again and again:
- Bridle path: This path is reserved exclusively for horse riders. Pedestrians and cyclists are not allowed to use it. It is too dangerous for them to use bridleways.
- Bridleway: The small sign indicates a bridleway and is often attached to trees. A bridleway is a narrow bridleway that runs parallel to a normal hiking and driving trail.
Please inform the municipal forestry office if you discover any defects or sources of danger on bridle paths or verges!
