Every year: "FahrRad - but bright" lighting campaign

Seeing and being seen are important prerequisites for safe interaction in road traffic - even in the dark season.

Motorized road users take it for granted that their vehicles have functioning lights.

On the other hand, pedestrians and cyclists are all too often dressed in dark clothing and without lights. This puts everyone on the road at risk.

On several days in November and December, a campaign team from the city of Aachen is out and about in the city center of Aachen every year in high-visibility overalls and addressed cyclists in particular:
Those who were out and about with bright clothing/warning vest and lights on their bikes received a thank you in the form of a chocolate Santa Claus and small reflectors.
Those who were out and about in dark clothing or without lights were made aware of the importance of their visibility and received an Aachen warning vest and reflectors in addition to the Santa Claus.

The campaign met with a positive response from those addressed - whether on foot or by bike.
