Accident Commission (UK)

The City of Aachen is obliged to form an accident commission on the basis of the section on Section 44 of the General Administrative Regulation on the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) of 22/05/2017 in the currently valid version in conjunction with the joint circular of the Ministry of the Interior 414-61.05.04 and the Ministry of Transport III B 358.91.16 of 10/06/2021.

In addition to the permanent members (road traffic authority 68/400, road construction authority 68/500, police), the municipal traffic planners (68/200), the district government as the higher supervisory authority, Aachener Stadtbetrieb (E/18 GB5) and ASEAG are regularly involved in the consultations. If necessary, other experts are also involved.

The accident commission meets regularly or as required.

The aim of the commission is to reactively analyze local accidents and proactively develop and implement measures to prevent them. A particular focus is placed on accidents involving personal injury and the early detection of negative accident trends.

On 16.12.2024, the "Report on the measures taken by the Accident Commission at its annual meeting on 28.08.2024" was submitted to the Mobility Committee.
