(BALM): Presentation of the City of Aachen's road safety action plan
The City of Aachen was invited by the Federal Mobility Forum at the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility (BALM) to present its action plan for increasing road safety on June 5, 2024 (Cologne) and September 2, 2024 (Bonn) as part of the "Basic seminar on municipal road safety work".
The new series of events on municipal road safety work is part of the federal government's current road safety program. The Federal Mobility Forum thus supports local authorities and districts in implementing successful road safety work. The service is provided on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV). In its Road Safety Program 2021 to 2030, the federal government has announced that it will support "the training and further education of specialist personnel in the planning and operation of roads as well as those involved in the safety management of road infrastructure". This is intended to "impart knowledge on the safe design and planning of infrastructure and traffic management".
The city of Aachen was happy to explain its action plan as a component of the two-day basic seminar on road safety.
The approximately 20 participants from all over Germany engaged in a lively and very interested discussion about the practical examples from the city of Aachen.
