03/2023: Digital platform gefahrenstellen.de

gefahrenstellen.de has been online since March 2023. The digital platform aims to increase road safety and was funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI).

Cooperation here

  • the Institute for Road Engineering (ISAC) at RWTH Aachen University,
  • the initiative for safe roads,
  • the Department of Traffic Science & Traffic Psychology at the German Police University,
  • Planning Transport Verkehr PTV AG and
  • DTV-Verkehrsconsult GmbH.

The City of Aachen has been involved in the development of the platform as a project partner at municipal level.

The aim of the project is to record, collect and evaluate information on danger spots perceived by the population. The feedback is compared with other relevant data for verification.

For the City of Aachen, the portal is a supplementary source of information from the public about danger spots in traffic areas. It reviews and evaluates this information and takes it into account in its activities to increase road safety.

Depending on the complexity of the notified body (type of measure, structural conditions on site, scope of the necessary planning, type and scope of the bodies to be involved, construction site management, costs, etc.), consideration can be given at different speeds.

On 03.03.2021, the WDR Lokalzeit reported on the reporting platform gefahrenstellen.de. As a supporter of the project, the City of Aachen was happy to contribute a statement to the report at the request of the ISAC of RWTH Aachen University.
