01/2022: Internal insights into traffic planning and city operations "My friend, the snowplow"

On 11.01.2022, the Transport Planning and Mobility Department (FB61/300) visited Aachen's waste management and city cleaning department (E18/340) on the Madrider Ring site.

The aim of the meeting was to promote understanding of the challenges of the respective daily work. In the exchange, both the planners reported on the framework factors of their planning work and the maintainers reported on the challenges in the daily handling of cleaning and clearing the traffic infrastructure of the city of Aachen. The planning and maintenance of the structurally protected bike lanes on the road were of particular interest.

The meeting was characterized by great mutual goodwill and interest in understanding the work processes and working together to make them as efficient and effective as possible.

The journey in snow clearing and cleaning vehicles and the resulting personal discussions between the mixed teams gave the mini training course, which was entitled "My friend, the snow clearing vehicle", great practical relevance.

In a further meeting, the colleagues from the municipal company also engaged in a constructive exchange with the Road Planning and Construction Department, Wastewater Coordination Office (FB61/700), which is based in the same department.
