01/2020: Participation in the federal road safety program 2021-30
At the personal invitation of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), the City of Aachen is actively involved in the work to draw up the Federal Road Safety Program 2021-2030.
To date, two events have taken place with participation from Aachen
- 10.10.2019, "Strategy workshop to prepare the 2021-2030 road safety program" on the premises of the BMVI, Berlin
- 29.01.2020, "Workshop Best Practices in the Road Safety Work of Municipalities and Districts" at the premises of the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), Bergisch Gladbach.
Background:
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is currently preparing the continuation of the federal road safety program after 2020.
In line with the coalition agreement and against the backdrop of "Vision Zero", a comprehensive strategy for society as a whole is to guide road safety work in the coming years and achieve a further continuous reduction in the number of road fatalities.
As a key part of this strategy, a follow-up program will be set up until 2030 once the current federal road safety program expires. The strategy is to achieve further significant improvements in road safety through action by the federal government and an effort by society as a whole.
Against this backdrop, the BMVI is inviting federal states, local authorities, associations and other stakeholders relevant to road safety to make their respective contributions clear. A multi-part dialog process has been set up for this purpose.
