Convenient parking tickets via cell phone - in Aachen, too, drivers can easily save themselves the trouble of searching for small change or the nearest parking ticket machine. Since November 1, 2023, the city of Aachen has been offering parking with the EasyPark app.

1. Simply download the EasyPark app to your smartphone, register and select the desired payment method.
2. When opening the app, check the location, determine the parking time with the virtual wheel and start the parking process.
3. To stop or extend manually, operate the wheel again. Otherwise, parking ends automatically as soon as the set parking time ends.

During a parking ticket check, the enforcement officers can use the vehicle license plate to check whether a digital ticket has been purchased.

What does the service cost?

In the city of Aachen, drivers can park with the "Lokal Aachen" tariff without an additional service fee. This means that an online parking ticket costs the same as a parking ticket from a machine. Parking outside Aachen is also possible with the EasyPark Standard tariff. However, depending on the location and operator, additional service charges may apply.

Activation of the "Local Aachen" tariff

After downloading the EasyPark app, the "Standard tariff" is initially activated. To switch to the local tariff for the city of Aachen, the following steps are necessary:

1. Log in at www.easypark.com/de with the user data
2. Select "My profile" and scroll down
3. Select the city of Aachen under "Package". The "EasyPark Standard" tariff will now be changed to the "EasyPark Local Aachen" tariff and EasyPark can be used in the parking areas of the city of Aachen without an additional service fee.

If service fees have already been paid in Aachen parking zones, these will be refunded by EasyPark.

Visitors from the Netherlands and Belgium can now also use the EasyPark app in Aachen.

Cell phone parking: Provider refers to fake stickers

The city points out that counterfeit EasyPark stickers have been discovered on parking ticket machines in other municipalities. The company EasyPark offers cell phone parking in Aachen. It had alerted the city to the fake stickers with a QR code. The stickers show a QR code that does not redirect to the EasyPark mobile app, but to a third-party website. There, users are asked to enter their credit card details, EasyPark announced.

Recently, a woman from Aachen also informed the city that she had come across this scam. So far, the city's public order service and the technical staff of APAG (Aachener Parkhausgesellschaft) have been unable to detect the counterfeit stickers on the parking ticket machines in Aachen.
