The mighty plane tree, somewhat hidden at the back of the abbey, canopies the street and some parking spaces with its large and expansive crown. Its branches almost reach the wall of the house on the opposite side. The five-meter-thick trunk is divided into five trunks. As a result, the tree appears very large and dominates the Abteiplatz.
Sycamore trees are easy to recognize by their trunks: the bark flakes off in irregular thin sheets, resulting in a characteristic pattern of different shades of brown and green on the trunk.
