Dog meadows in urban parks

What could be better for a dog than to really let off steam in a large area?

Three large areas in Aachen are a paradise for dogs, as dog owners can put their leashes in their pockets.

But not everyone is at ease with dogs and some may even be afraid of these animals. A high degree of mutual consideration and respect is therefore required, especially in the open-air areas. The rules for fair play are intended to help with this.

And please remember: when you leave the area, the lead must be taken out of the bag and put back on the dog.

Rules for fair play

To ensure that the free-range area for dogs is a benefit for everyone, dog owners should adhere to certain basic rules:

  • Please supervise your dog. You are responsible for him.
  • Your dog must be recalled at all times and may not leave the area unleashed.
  • Be considerate when meeting other people. Some people are afraid of dogs. Show others that you have your dog under control and are prepared to be considerate.
  • Dog waste does not belong under your shoes, but in the garbage can. Pick up everything your dog leaves behind - your fellow human beings will thank you for it!
  • If your dog is required to wear a muzzle and/or lead, this also applies to the open-air areas.
