Collection of information on building and living together

The topic of "building and living in communities" is becoming increasingly important against the backdrop of demographic developments and the affordability of housing. The City of Aachen supports alternative forms of housing that focus on communal building and living, such as building and living groups or communal housing projects. These models combine attractive, affordable housing with the idea of mutual support and social exchange in the neighborhood. In addition, communal housing projects can extend beyond the community in their own residential group to the neighborhood and offer services for the wider neighborhood that strengthen a district. This is how livable neighborhoods develop.

Find projects and groups via the housing project portal

Make your project or group visible. Some Aachen projects are already represented, but by no means all of them. Show how active Aachen is when it comes to shared housing projects. An entry on the platform is free and uncomplicated. It helps networking and the visibility of the topic as well as the need and desire for communal living. Both completed housing projects and projects in the start-up phase can be entered here. The portal is operated by the Trias Foundation.

Video lecture: Legal forms for community housing projects - an introduction

Which legal form is the right one? What do community housing projects need to consider when making their choice? In his video lecture, Rolf Novy-Huy traces the path to the right legal form and also discusses the various legal forms themselves.

The video lecture was created as a contribution to the online training course "Community housing projects - legal forms and financing models" organized by the NIEDERSACHSENBÜRO Neues Wohnen im Alter. The trias Foundation and the FORUM Gemeinschaftliches Wohnen are planning another event on legal forms in late summer, this time nationwide, for which you can register at info@stiftung-trias.de.
