Our claim to district work

We know your needs from the numerous conversations we have with older citizens in the neighborhood, at the weekly market, at festivals or in clubs. Thanks to our many contacts with associations, other institutions and the city as a whole, we are often able to provide unbureaucratic support.

We work successfully for Richterich

Not all of your wishes can be implemented. But we always take them seriously and, if necessary, place them in the committees. As a member of the district conference, we have dealt with many requests and suggestions there in recent years. Examples include the "Hollandlinie" motorway noise barrier, proposals for the redesign of Schloss-Schönau Park and the installation of new benches in the district. These requests have now been almost completely implemented.

And there are still many more requests to be made, for example regarding the accessibility of paths, the accessibility of buses and trains and the topic of mobility in general. There is still a lot to do.

Planning 2023/2024

With almost 30% of the population being senior citizens, we particularly want to address the issue of "loneliness in old age". This is also one of the key topics in the city of Aachen's city-wide Senior Citizens' Council.

The presentation of the ambitious prospects for Richterich has also opened up further areas of work. The "Barrierefreihat Richterich" project is about short-term measures to improve the quality of life of older citizens. Other projects such as the "AWO senior citizens' project" or the new "Euregio train stop" and many more are more likely to be implemented in the medium or long term. Nevertheless, we need to think about them now - even if only for the next 60-plus generation.

Participation in committees and working groups

Our commitment to the district also includes participation in district development and city-wide committees.

  • Aachen Mobility Committee (Rolf Winkler)
  • Committee for Social Affairs Aachen (Gaby Schneider)
  • Discussion group "Zeitraum" in the Paul-Gerhard-Kirche Richterich (Gaby Schneider)
  • District conference for Richterich (both)
  • District representation for judge (both)
  • Member of the working group for the elderly in Richterich
