We are there for you personally during these consultation hours:

every first Mon of the month from 11.00 - 12.00 a.m.
in the meeting room of the Haaren district office,
Germanusstraße 38, Aachen

The district consists of two separate districts - Haaren and Verlautenheide.

At the last election in 2022, 3955 people were eligible to vote in our electoral district. With a voter turnout of around 40%, ideally one person from each district was elected. This means that local problems are well known and can be dealt with together.

We see reducing the problems of older people, for example limited mobility (lack of parking spaces or inadequate public transport), excessive demands due to digitalization and isolation due to the migration of friends and relatives, as our main tasks.

We are available for this in person during our consultation hours, by telephone or by email. On request, we can arrange contacts with the administration and the relevant offices or provide personal support to our fellow citizens.

As we cannot manage all these tasks in pairs and without our own budget, we are also members of the district conference and the "Urban Development" and "Senior Citizens" working groups. This gives us the opportunity to review decisions made by the district administration at an early stage with regard to the needs of older people and to make our own proposals.

Our involvement in the district conference and the working groups has created a network with many other senior citizens' organizations in the Haaren and Verlautenheide social area. These include, for example, the Red Cross, the Workers' Welfare Association, the meeting center, the VKM and the churches.

Fruitful cooperation has resulted in projects for senior citizens as well as intergenerational events. Examples of this are the lunch with soup and the guided tour of the Welsche Mühle. The tour was complemented by an exciting presentation by the local history association on the history and explanations of the mill.
