What do we do?
We hold consultation hours
- in the St. Hubertus community center on Kronenberg,
- at Café4you in Philipp Neri,
- in the honey pot,
- in the pizza store on Schurzelterstraße and
- at the weekly market on Kronenberg.
We organize joint breakfast meetings at the Maria Haus on Gemmenicher Weg and games afternoons at the Genezareth Church on Vaalserstraße in order to foster a sense of community and togetherness.
The restoration of the boules court on Galaterstraße on our own initiative has promoted the development of neighbourly networks on Steppenberg.
We arranged for new benches to be installed on Dreiländerweg to support older people and people with walking difficulties on their walks.
We explored Vaals and the Gut Hasselholz organic farm with informative guided tours, learned to see old houses in the city centre in a new light and dived into one of Aachen's last bunkers.
We held a wine tasting and twice a neighbourhood Christmas café.
Eight over-60s took part in a hiking trip to Crete organized by Martha Heinen. Once a month, we provide information about our activities by email.
Annette Werthmann is a member of the Housing and Property Committee and Ms Heinen is a deputy advisory member of the Environment and Climate Committee. We take part in the Kronenberg, Aachen-West (Gut Kullen) and Westparkviertel district conferences and in the meetings of the Laurensberg district council.
What are we going to do?
- This year, we have acquired city funding for the "Fit in the Neighborhood" project via the district conferences.
- We have also applied for the installation of further "Mulle benches" in our districts.
- Cooperation with the Food Council has been agreed and the establishment of a cooking group (Genezareth Church) is planned.
