Equal Opportunities Office
Equal opportunities, participation and rights for all - the aim of the City of Aachen's equality policy is to establish equal rights for all genders in all areas of life. In doing so, it stands on the ground of the Basic Law and works to realize the mission of supporting all people in their efforts to develop without stereotypes.
What is equality?
The broad range of tasks does not only include recurring tasks. New topics are also being added and new opportunities for implementing equality work are opening up.
Networking
The Equal Opportunities Office is involved in many different collaborations and committees. Selected networks are presented below.

Violence
Violence against women is a key issue in gender equality work. When looking at the statistics on assaults on women, the figures have risen continuously and significantly in recent years. Digitalization has also led to the development of other forms of violence, such as cyberstalking, cyberbullying and deep-fake videos.

Time for childcare?! Wishes and needs
The number of working mothers has been rising steadily for years, while the number of working fathers remains constantly high. The question of how to reconcile family and career is therefore an issue for all parents and has not lost any of its topicality.
