• Address of the apartment
• Size of the apartment and location
• Rent (divided into basic rent and advance payments of operating costs)
• Status of the furnishings
• Other features of the apartment and the residential area (special features, handicapped accessible, elevator available, proximity to daycare/school,...)

The following maximum amounts of gross cold rent (cold rent plus advance payment of operating costs without heating costs) must be taken into account in order for refugees to be entitled to social welfare benefits:

Number of persons: 2 - Rental costs: € 566.80
Number of persons: 3 - Rental costs: € 671.20
Number of persons: 4 - Rental costs: € 809.40
Number of persons: 5 - Rental costs: € 1,013.10

Important: Before a rental agreement is concluded, approval must be obtained from the Department of Housing, Social Affairs and Integration by submitting a rental certificate. You can find a form for the rental certificate under the additional information. Rental costs may not be covered without prior approval.

Rental of living space by the City of Aachen

Many people seeking protection are still housed in emergency accommodation. The City of Aachen is keen to provide these people with regular housing as quickly as possible. To this end, it also rents living space itself at standard market prices and according to need. We would also ask you to register any such offers using the form above.

In general, the City of Aachen points out that private collection campaigns should also be linked to private accommodation and should also be reported in order to keep the overall situation calculable and to be able to help people adequately.
